Abstract

Surgical delays continue to pose a significant challenge in modern healthcare, contributing to increased costs, compromised patient safety, and decreased satisfaction among patients and healthcare workers. These delays often stem from breakdowns in communication, scheduling conflicts, and role ambiguity, especially between anesthesia providers and operating room (OR) technicians. This research explores the role of enhanced collaboration between these critical professionals in minimizing surgical delays. Through an examination of interprofessional communication strategies, workflow integration, and empirical case studies, this paper identifies key interventions and best practices to foster synergy among surgical teams and reduce intraoperative inefficiencies. Particular attention is paid to real-world settings, including data collected from hospitals in Saudi Arabia, Germany, and the United States, to examine how effective coordination impacts workflow and outcomes
